Q: How is it attached I cannot fully tell from the pictures
A: Thanks for the question Beau. This particular mount attaches to the newer style fire helmets, such as the MSA Cairns XF1 Jet Style fire helmet. The small knob on the back of the mount inserts into the knob insert on the side of the helmet. For traditional style fire helmets (with brims) check out our Hard Hat Strap Mount or Universal Clip (clips to brim). Hope this helps, stay safe!
Q: do you have to drill into your helmet to mount this
A: Thanks for the question Garrett. This mount was designed specifically for newer style fire helmets, such as the MSA Cairns Xf1 Fire Helmet. There's a notch in the back of the mount that slides into the mounting system on these style helmets. Hope this helps, stay safe!
