The Micro safety beacon is well made. It is very sturdy out in the brush county of South Texas during field operations related to border security. The various mount options provide any kind of attachment one may need. Highly recommend the Micro safety beacon for situations where identification with infrared is essential for personal identification and safety.

The IR Guardian Light has proven to be an excellent addition to my k9 harness for night operations. It holds up well, ensuring the dog is easily visible. The user-friendly design makes it easy to operate, charge, and remove. I’m particularly pleased with the smaller size, which seamlessly attaches to the canine harness without hindering its functionality. Overall, a great product that meets and exceeds expectations. I am a part of a county special operations search and rescue unit (firefighter) and when conducting night time and low light call outs we are always assisted by the Sheriff’s drone department. This infared Guardian Angel device is just that, it helps the Sheriff’s drone track me and the 5 person team I am with at the time. I’m in the process of trying to convince the higher ups to put in a grant application in order to outfit the entire unit but there is a process for everything.
My Guardian Angel is attached to my helmet and always fully charged for my next call.

Given that this unit is 100% IR, we are looking to use this on our K9’s so that we can easily differentiate between K9 and other wildlife via our drone while tracking in the woods. Our officers do not have NVG, is there any other way or some type of device that can be used to verify that the device is on and in the desired flash pattern?

Great question Matt! Given that this device is 100% Infrared, the only way to see the IR light is with NAV. For the K9 application, we’ve more commonly seen the IR Hybrid devices, which emit both visible and IR light. The IR light on the Hybrid devices is on the top, making K9 tracking very easy (either visible to the eye or stealth), and the user can also see if the IR light is on even without using NAV. I can’t tell if it works cause I can’t see the lights and have nothing home that can show me that it works. These products are amazing, I just should of bought 2 of the other light I bought.

Thank you for your purchase and review Michael! This model is our ALL INFRARED LED device, which means the LEDs in this device can only be seen with some type of night vision goggles. It emits NO VISIBLE LIGHT whatsoever, purple or otherwise. Hope this helps, stay safe!!

Being visible but maintaining a low profile at night is what this unit is about. Just ensure you have overwatch capable of seeing IR to look out for IR capable devices ahead of you otherwise you’ll show up nicely on someone’s CCTV system.

This is a great item if your are running tactical night operations. Easily visible with night vision at a pretty good distance. Only complaint was that the battery doesn’t last very long while In a continuous use. Other than that it’s a great product.

This particular light is, I’m sure, outstanding for the right conditions. However, to be an LEO option, it needs the red and blue lights that can bee seen. Every officer in my department uses the LEO Elite model when we are out of our vehicles at night. They are perfect for traffic accidents and really anything you could need on night shift. They are even great when enforcing schools zones on foot. The Micro needs an option with the red and blues. That is the only reason I give it a 4 and not a 5 rating.

Compared my original IR and the new Mini IR through my NVG. The new mini was just as bright and easily seen with nvg. The new size and weight reduction makes it better for helmet or other headgear mounting. There should not be any doubt that this is a good piece of equipment when IR identification is required
